This summer Southern Rep launches its artistic residency at Le Chat Noir by satirizing eager theatre troupes, documentary plays, and zombie lore in one hilarious show. Zombie Town: A Documentary Play by Tim Bauer directed by Southern Rep Associate Artistic Director, Mark Routhier, marks the first Southern Rep@Le Chat Noir production. This mock-umentary play tells the story of a San Francisco theatre collective that travels to Harwood, Texas, the site of a disturbing and devastating zombie attack, to interview the surviving citizens. This is the true recounting of that terrible invasion compiled from those interviews.

"Zombie Town: A Documentary Play is the perfect blend of zip, zaniness, and zombie madness for our first show as residents of Le Chat Noir. I can't wait to work with our outstanding local cast and our new colleagues at Le Chat Noir as we come together to bring you this brainy comedy," said Mark Routhier, Associate Artistic Director.

This Regional Premiere of Zombie Town stars Natalie Boyd, Kerry Cahill, Gamal Chasten, Chris Kaminstein, and Zach Rogers.

The production previews on July 1st, with Opening Night July 2nd, running through July 18th. Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 6pm. Tickets are on sale now for $25 and may be purchased at 504-581-5814, www.cabaretlechatnoir.com or www.SouthernRep.com.

PLUS an exciting late night offering on Saturday nights-Join us for special viewings of dark and twisted and hilariously campy Wild Eye Films at 10pm after each Saturday performance. Those with Zombie Town tickets get in free. Without tickets, you can buy your way in for just $5.

10pm Saturday, July 3rd - NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: REANIMATED (1968)
A collaborative artistic mash-up of George Romero's cult classic. Nearly 150 International Artists and animators chose their favorite scenes and re-envisioned them through their own artwork, with no restrictions on style, media or process - resulting in a sprawling eclectic ‘art show' interpretation of the seminal 1968 film, all placed over the original's audio. With work ranging from oil paintings to comic illustrations and sock puppets to CGI and stop-motion - NOTLD:R not only pays the respect due this most important work in horror history, but encourages viewers to experience the film brand new light that bursts with the humor and horror of a new generation of artists.

10pm Saturday, July 10th - GOLD (1968)
A Turned on Tale of the New America Dream. In 1968, filmmaker Bob Levis led a rag-tag band of dreamers, drop outs and drug-happy darlings into the wilderness to make a movie and emerged a month later with GOLD, a bizarre and beautiful journey into the mind and madness of the late 1960s - one overflowing with fantasies of revolution, recreation and raunchy free love. At once a western, a comedy, a nudie, a drama and a musical - GOLD is a profound potpourri made in the spirit of shaking down square society, while systematically shattering every movie rule in the process.

Starring the father of improvisational comedy Del Close ("The Untouchables", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"), Garry Goodrow ("Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice", "The Hollywood Knights"), and fueled by the hard kickin' sounds of the MC5 and more, GOLD is a tawdry and twisted testament to a time when the world was ready for change, and the counter-culture set out to turn it upside-down.

10pm Saturday, July 17th - ELECTRIC CHAIR (1985)
Victor Argo ("Ghost Dog", "Taxi Driver", "True Romance") is a shoe store manager who attempts to revive a failed career as a stand-up comic by performing at a mysterious club where he finds himself sharing the stage with a looming, ready-to-shock electric chair... and performing before an audience of himself in the various stages of his life, and other friends, family and enemies - who are all subject to his cantankerous and biting routines on love, society, friendship and god.
THE ELECTRIC CHAIR features a stunning performance and rare leading role from the late, great Argo, one of New York City's most prolific and memorable character actors.

THE ELECTRIC CHAIR is a true lost treasure of New York City filmmaking at its most inspired, sarcastic and dark - laced with shades of both Scorsese and Jarmusch - and striking a chord somewhere between Lenny and "The King of Comedy."
