Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts in Kenner's Rivertown will kick off 2014 with an original locally written musical revue, Under The Boardwalk, presented on the Main Stage from today, January 10-25, 2014.
In the same genre as last season's popular Class of '70 Something, the show celebrates some of the greatest songs ever written, featuring a big band and the famous harmonies of The Four Seasons, Beach Boys, Doo-wop, and Motown. Audience favorites include "My Girl," "Blue Moon," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "I Get Around," "Walk Like a Man," "Oh What a Night," and many more.
Under the Boardwalk was penned by New Orleans natives Richard Arnold and Kasey Marino to showcase the best hits of their popular high-energy vocal quartet, the "Big Easy Buddies." The "Buddies" were founded in 2011 with a goal of producing Broadway-caliber theatrical performances primarily marketed to the cruise, casino, corporate, and hospitality industries. They've garnered rave reviews for their "tight vocals, scripting and movement" (Carl Mack, Carl Mack Presents). For more information, see http://www.shore-thing.org.
