Under the direction of multi-talented performer, director and theatrical creator, Ricky Graham, and starring Rivertown Theaters' co-artistic director, Gary Rucker, Young Frankenstein, debuts in New Orleans tonight, May 9, closing out the 2014 Spring line-up on the theater's Main Stage. The multi-award winning musical, with the Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan and Music & Lyrics by Brooks, is an inspired re-imagining of Mel Brooks' classic comedy movie masterpiece.

The story follows young Dr. Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather's masterwork and bring a corpse to life. Together with his oddly shaped and endearing helper Igor (that's Eyegor), his curvaceous lab assistant Inga, and in spite of his self-involved madcap fiancée Elizabeth, Frankenstein succeeds in creating a monster - but not without scary and quite often hilarious complications.

With such memorable tunes as "The Transylvania Mania," "He Vas My Boyfriend" and "Puttin' On The Ritz, " YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is scientifically-proven, monstrously good entertainment...and the only place the audience will witness a singing and dancing laboratory experiment in the largest tuxedo ever made.
