New Orleans Lit Fest Accepts Entries for Poetry Conest, DEADLINE 8/15

The 25th Annual Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival (March 23-27, 2011) is accepting entries for a poetry contest.  The deadline for the Festival's first annual Poetry Contest is August 15, judged by Louisiana Poet Laureate Darrell Bourque, the contest carries a grand prize of $1,000 as well as other accolades.

Submit 2-4 original, unpublished poems of any style or theme, with a combined length of up to 400 lines, by August 15 for a chance to win top honors. Plus, top ten finalists earn a complimentary panel pass to attend the Festival in March. This pass admits to over two dozen events designed to inspire, encourage, and educate writers of all genres.

The Grand Prize includes: $1,000, VIP All Access Pass ($500 value) for the "CenTENNial" Festival"-the 25th anniversary Festival and the 100th birthday celebration of Tennessee Williams: March 23-27, 2011, public reading at the 2011 Festival and publication in Louisiana Cultural Vistas magazine.
