Acclaimed husband and wife pianists, David Sutanto and Shao-Shan Chen, will present a duo piano recital featuring works by Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt and Frédéric Chopin at Loyola University New Orleans on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex, on the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Calhoun Street.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and free for Loyola faculty, staff and students, and are available online at www.montage.loyno.edu or by calling 504-865-2074. Tickets will also be available at the door 30 minutes prior to the performance.

Sutanto and Chen, both piano professors at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Tex., attended the Boston Conservatory and the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. Sutanto, who has performed throughout the United States and abroad, gained international recognition when he won the 1997 Artists International Audition in New York, which resulted in his critically acclaimed New York recital debut at the Carnegie Recital Hall in 1998. As a collaborative pianist, he has worked with world-renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Sarah Chang, Julius Baker, Erick Friedman and Dorothy DeLay.

Chen has won numerous first prizes in national piano competitions, and at the age of 18, she made her debut as a piano soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Santo Domingo. She has performed as a piano soloist and chamber musician at the Carnegie Recital Hall and the Columbia Artists Management Inc. Hall.

Sutanto and Chen will also present a masterclass on Friday, Feb. 3, at 10:30 a.m. in Roussel Hall. Admission to the masterclass is free and open to the public.
