This 37th Season will be a "Hybrid" offering. Why, you ask? Because of forces beyond our control (delays, hurricanes) our planning is entering its third season of "skewered" organization and implementation. For the third straight year Teatro Wego is our main space. Final funding has been secured to repair our gem on the West Bank - the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre but a start date is not yet in sight. But the Emerald City, the Holy Grail and Valhalla are in sight. In the next six months a final outcome on 36 years of stubborn persistence will pay off. I am so tired of answering your questions about "when will the new theatre be finished?" My firm answer is October 29. That's it. Our elected officials and the contractor agreed to extend the contract on this date 365 days ago in writing (probably in blood though not sure whose). So after all the "sea-trials" of the new space we'll be in there and all the acrimony will subside. Once you're seated in the beautiful seats and feel the intimacy to the stage you will wonder why Jefferson Parish didn't build this 50 years ago. I have an opinion but let's not go there. That's the power of live performing arts. Therefore, in light of this I am adding a two month cushion and expect our first production in January 2015 exactly 37 years after planning the first JPAS concert in 1978! Sorry to disappoint you but no one has suffered more than JPAS in this "Bataan March" of theatre construction. So what's so "hybrid" about this next season? My answer is we'll start in Teatro Wego but by the Spring of 2015 you'll get notices of the new theatre offerings and hopefully by March of next year we'll be re-christening our beautiful little theatre in Westwego. Nonetheless, please check out the exciting shows we have crafted for Teatro Wego, the East Jefferson Auditorium and our new North Shore home, the beautiful space at Christ Episcopal School. See You at The Theatre!

By Michael & Susan Parker
Directed by "Uncle" Wayne Daigrepont
Mrs. Stancliffe's Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast has been successful for many years. Guest (nearly all women) return year after year. Her next-door neighbor, the silver-tongued Bud Davis believes that they return to spend time with "Bud the Stud" in romantic liaisons. The prim and proper Mrs. Stancliffe, of course, steadfastly denies this. Her other neighbor, Henry Mitchell, a retired chemist, has developed a little blue pill patented under the name "Venusia" after Venus, the goddess of love, to increase the libido in menopausal women, specifically Mrs. Stancliffe. The only problem is he doesn't know if it works or not. Bud, inadvertently gets his hands on some of the "Venusia" pills and the fun begins as the guests arrive.

The Lady With All The Answers
By David Rambo
Directed by "Uncle" Wayne Daigrepont
"Dear Ann Landers"...For decades, renowned advice columnist Ann Landers answered countless letters from lovelorn teens, confused couples and a multitude of others in need of advice. No topic was off-limits, including nude housekeeping, sex in a motorcycle helmet, the proper way to hang toilet paper, sibling rivalries, addiction, religion and wandering spouses. Landers regaled her readers with direct, insightful and often humorously honest responses. Late on a 1975 night in Landers' Chicago apartment, an ironic twist of events confronts her with a looming deadline for a column dealing with a new kind of heartbreak: her own. As she shares her struggles to complete the column with us, we learn as much about ourselves as we do about the wise, funny, no-nonsense woman whose daily dialogue with America helped shape the social and sexual landscapes of the last half-century.
