New Orleans based theatre group Mondo Bizarro's production of LOUP GAROU is currently playing at their outdoor venue in the City Park East Golf Course. Nick Slie plays Garou, a wild and dangerous entity well anchored in the folk traditions of southern Louisiana. His story comes from France through Acadia down the Mississippi and numerous inland routes to Louisiana.

Local award-winning performance innovators ArtSpot Productions and Mondo Bizarro, in collaboration with the Gulf Restoration Network and New Orleans City Park, present Loup Garou, a new environmental performance that uses rigorous physicality, poetry, music and visual installation to investigate the deep interconnectedness between land and culture in Louisiana. Loup Garou opened October 8th, in the abandonEd Fields of City Park. This outdoor performance includes post-show discussions about coastal land loss with the Gulf Restoration Network. With Thursday morning performances beginning at sunrise and weekend evening performances ending at sunset, Loup Garou is part performance, part ritual, part howl to the world about southeast Louisiana's plight.

LOUP GAROU is directed by Kathy Randels and is written by poet Raymond "Moose" Jackson. The design team includes Jeff Becker, Phil Cramer, Adam Tourek and Swamp Deville and features the talents of musicians Barbara and Whit Connah. Melisa Cardona acts as production manager. The show plays Thursdays at sunrise (7am), and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 5pm. Tickets are $15, with a discounted price of $10 for artists, students and seniors. The Sunday, October 11 showing is "Pay-What-You-Can."
