Wanishi: A Tale of Burlington Island follows siblings Quinn and Jamie as they are tasked by their father to clean up Burlington Island, where they stumble upon a magical rock that transports them back in time. This world premiere play, directed by Melody Marshall and featuring young performers, explores the island's rich history through encounters with its diverse ancestors, including the Lenape tribe and European settlers. Written by local playwright Brie Knight, the story highlights the significance of Burlington Island and encourages appreciation for nature and community. Performances are scheduled for August 9th at the Lyceum Hall Center for the Arts.
