Two Rivers most popular education program breaks the mold to create something entirely new with Tiny Shakes: Romeo and Juliet, co-directed by Aneesha Kudtarkar and Em Weinstein (A Little Shakespeare: Twelfth Night). As in A Little Shakespeare productions, Tiny Shakes brings high school students together with a professional design team, with students performing and supporting the production behind the scenes. This year, the program takes the limitations of 2021 as an opportunity for students to delve deeply into Shakespeares star-crossed romantic tragedy, giving them the agency to tell the story of each scene in their own way and film it: Traditional Zoom scene reading? Rap battle? Movement or dance piece? Animation? The skys the limit! These videos will be edited into a theatrical collage that can be accessed through Two Rivers website this May. There, audiences and educators can take the journey of the play through the videos, and continue to use this site as a resource. You will be taken to a webpage which includes 24 videos (Scenes 1 - 24), ranging from 2-8 minutes. Watch them all at once, or a few at a time! You will be able to access the videos as often as you'd like through June 30/2021.Reserve your free ticket and you will automatically be emailed the password to access the performance in your confirmation email. In addition, the hour following your reservation you will receive an email with the performance link, password and additional resources to enhance your experience. Closed Captioning is available for this production.
