Egocentric and famously outlandish radio-wit Sheridan Whiteside, after being invited to dinner at the quaint home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley, slips on a piece of ice and fractures his hip. At the threat of being sued, the Stanleys put up (and put up with) their outrageous guest, his odd collection of gifts, and his wild group of acquaintances. Through it all, Whiteside manages to alienate the neighbors, lead the children into rebellion and rack up an $800 phone bill, driving his hosts, as well as his own nurse, to the point of insanity. A classic play that has been performed for over 60 years, The Man Who Came to Dinner is a comedy that serves as a subtle reminder; choose your dinner guests wisely!
