Beloved for all those years and beyond, it has brought us such wonderful songs as Try To Remember, and Soon It’s Gonna Rain
THE FANTASTICKS, narrated by the mystical and gallant El Gallo, is a timeless story focusing on two young lovers, their meddling parents and the journey we all must take through the highs of adolescent passions, the agonies of heartbreak and the hurts of betrayal … to discover how to truly love
The result is a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time. It is a story of love, independence, illusion and excitement which at the heart of every budding romance,
El Gallo, asks the audience to use their imagination and follow him into a world of moonlight and magic. The boy and the girl fall in love, grow apart and finally find their way back to each other after realizing the truth in El Gallo's words that, "without a hurt, the heart is hollow."
THE FANTASTICKS is directed by RUTH MARKOE, with Musical Direction by SUE DEN OUTER. The ensemble features MATT LAFARGUE as El Gallo and JAMES ZIMMERMAN as The Mute both of whom guide the action. CHRISTINA FREEMAN and THOMAS WICK play Luisa and Matt, the love-struck neighbors. Their meddling fathers Hucklebee and Bellomy are played by TOM CHIOLA and JIM MORRIS Rounding out the cast are BILL AGRESS and BARRY LEONARD as the itinerant Actors.
