The Axelrod continues its tradition of celebrating Memorial Day weekend with a swinging big band and award-winning lead vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli, this year singing the immortal songs of George and Ira Gershwin. The New York Times compared Ms. Stravelli to Ella Fitzgerald in her prime, and she has performed in many of New Yorks most prestigious venues as well as concert halls around the world. The Gershwins contribution to the Great American Songbook includes dozens of hit songs that continue to be recorded and performed today, including Someone to Watch Over Me, S Wonderful, Summertime, and I Got Rhythm.
