Songs of Us at Nimbus Arts Center

Nimbus Dance performs to the music of Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, Caroline Shaw and more, in Fall Season at the Nimbus Arts Center. 

Celebrating our 20th Anniversary Season, Nimbus Dance presents an intimate evening of dance and music that highlights the breadth and beauty of human connection, with Special Guests: Terpsichore Ensemble, Colin Britt, Artistic Director. With a highly physical and visually engaging aesthetic that “splits the difference between traditionalism and modernism" (Jersey City Times), the company performs to the music of Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Caroline Shaw (all sung live by Terpsichore Ensemble), and iconic Jazz vocalists, Nina Simone, and Nancy Wilson.

The program features the world premiere of 'Heart & Flesh' by Cuban choreographer Pedro Ruiz, performed by two male dancers locked in physical harmonies evocative of two birds in flight. Also featured: a revival of Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott's stirring 'Six Chansons', and Dawn Marie Bazemore's joyous and electric 'The After Party'
