After the sound and fury of the Revolution collapsed into deafening silence, the worn ways of the old world rushed into its place, eager to forget that which could not be forgiven. Some, however, cannot forget so easily, and it is in this time and place that a simple painting forces two individuals cast by fortune on opposite sides, to either reckon with their past or be devoured by it in the shadow of such great loss.
