Speranza Theatre Company presents MARY & ELEANOR, a new play by Noelle Brower.
The Democratic National Convention in Chicago is poised to shape the future of American history — but this isn’t 2024, it’s 1932. In the shadows of the political frenzy, the first Democratic woman elected to Congress, Jersey City’s Mary T. Norton (Heather Wahl), seizes a rare moment to share her bold vision for the nation and the role women must play in it. Her audience? None other than Eleanor Roosevelt (Laura Frye). Directed by Mikaela Kafka, the play delves into the historical significance of these two trailblazing women and their contributions to social justice. The production runs from November 15 to November 23, 2024, at the Museum of Jersey City History.
