Russian-born and New York-based pianist Anna Keiserman, known for her creative programming, expressive freedom, and singular vision performs at the Sieminski Theater on Sunday, September 18 at 2:30pm. The program features a rich tapestry of Russian, Czech and Iberian music, ranging from the sweeping romanticism of Rachmaninoff, to the tragic folk idioms of Janek and the vibrant colors of Catalan composer Jordi Cervell (a North American premiere). The music brings the listener on a journey through place and time, conjuring up the shared experiences of the people, as well as the diverse landscapes and dramatic upheavals of their countries.
