The Charles Seller Foundation, based in Bloomfield, NJ, proudly announces its summer musical, Godspell (2012 revised version) to support our 2023-2024 beneficiary, Nelson Matos, of Nutley, NJ. Nelson is an 18 year old who attended Nutley High School. He went to the hospital with abdominal pain and after some testing found out he had an enlarged heart and would need a heart transplant. After suffering from a stroke, he is no longer a candidate for a heart transplant. Nelson is now fighting to gain his strength to get back on the heart transplant list. He is making great progress everyday.
Godspell tells the story of a small group of people helping Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
Godspell will be performed at Bloomfield High School located at 160 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003 on the following dates: Thursday, August 1st, Friday, August 2nd, Saturday, August 3rd, Thursday, August 8th, Friday, August 9th, and Saturday, August 10th at 7:30PM.
