This acclaimed Russian ballet company brings Giselle, one of the most romantic classical ballets to the State Theatre New Jersey stage. With stunning choreography by the legendary Marius Petipa and hauntingly beautiful music, this romantic ballet portrays the poignant tale of Giselle, a young peasant girl who has fallen madly in love with a villager, unaware that he is, in fact, a count in disguise. When she learns that he is betrothed to another, she takes her own life, and joins the ghosts of girls who seek to avenge the men who have jilted them. This gorgeous ballet of love and hate, vengeance and forgiveness, is performed by some of Russia’s finest dancers in the grand tradition of Russian ballet with gorgeous costumes and colorful sets.
