Light Opera of New Jersey continues its 25th Season of operetta and musical theatre with a production of Die Fledermaus. This operetta was composed by Johann Strauss based on a book and lyrics by Carl Haffner and Richard Genee.Reegan McKenzie directs the production with musical direction by Jason Tramm. As midnight approaches at Prince Orlofsky's lavish New Year's Eve party, Dr. Falke tells of how he once earned the nickname "Dr. Fledermaus" and became the laughingstock of all Vienna as the result of a practical joke played by his best friend Gabriel von Eisenstein. Falke, out for revenge, has arranged for Eisenstein's beautiful wife Rosalinde and their maid Adele to attend the party secretly and in disguise. After many mistaken identities, much festivity and general frivolity, this grand farce produces a happy conclusion for all.Staring are: Jessica Albano as Sally, Hank Barre as Frosch, Brittany Bellacosa as Orlofsky, Jeremy Blossey as Eisenstein, Matt Ciuffitelli as Falke, Samantha Dango Blossey as Rosalinda, Chelsea Friedlander as Adele, Zachery Morehouse as Blind, Frank Skokan as Frank, and Mathew Tartza as Alfred.Ensemble performers include: Mike Baruffi, John Burke, Laura DeFelice, Matt Delavan, Rider Foster, Teresa Giardini, Alexandra Gualario, Angela Hendryx, Changkuo Hsieh, Rick Morley, Sarah OSullivan, Samantha Pearl Tropper, Paige Porter, Alize Rozsnyai, Alessia Santoro and Veronica Shea.LONJ is a premier operetta, opera, and musical theater company founded in 1995 by William Corson, Executive Director, and Lauran Corson, Artistic Director.
