Please join us at the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center in Basking Ridge, NJ on the evening of February 27th or 29th. This operetta was composed by Johann Strauss based on a book and lyrics by Carl Haffner and Richard Genee. As midnight approaches at Prince Orlofskys lavish New Years Eve party, Dr. Falke tells of how he once earned the nickname Dr. Fledermaus and became the laughingstock of all Vienna as the result of a practical joke played by his best friend Gabriel von Eisenstein.Falke, out for revenge, has arranged for Eisensteins beautiful wife Rosalinde and their maid Adele to attend the party secretly and in disguise. After many mistaken identities, much festivity and general frivolity, this grand farce produces a happy ending for all.Des Fledermaus is an operetta which is where opera meets musical theater. They are short operas, usually on a light or humorous theme and typically have spoken dialogue. The experience is that of musical theater, with a classical twist, said Bill Corson, Co-founder and Executive Producer of LONJ. The music, sets, exemplary acting make for an outstanding performanceThe live professional orchestra accompanies beautiful voices featuring nationally acclaimed soprano, Chelsea Freidlander as Adele, Jeremy Blossey, tenor as Eisenstein and Samantha Blossey, soprano as Rosalinda. The performance is spoken and sung in English and provides for a rousing good time!
