It's Christmas in 1970, and the Stahl family is still in repair since Dad left years ago. When Mom's new boyfriend drops by for Christmas Eve with a Marine Corps nutcracker, her children Maddie and Red realize their lives are about to change. And they do - as soon as they fall asleep, the nutcracker comes to life and whisks them away to a fantastical jungle amid his age-old rivalry with the warlord rat King. To get back home, Maddie must face her fears and discover the the true meaning of Christmas.
Adapted from E.T.A. Hoffman's Nutcracker and Mouse-King, this world premiere production features an original script with all-new music and lyrics by Perry-Award-winning theatrical writer Jon Provan.
