Don't miss Englewood Night Out on Tuesday July 15th where bergenPAC takes the stage to the streets- be the first to get a sneak peak preview of the Performing Arts School's production of Cats. Also performing on the bergenPAC sponsored stage will be New Jersey based bands Larry Stevens and then The Great Fraud.
Englewood Night Market will turn Englewood, New Jersey's East Palisade Avenue into a pedestrian-only area for one evening. The event will feature food sampling from area restaurants, live music, an outdoor beer and sangria bar and family activities provided by local non-profit organizations and area businesses.
"This will be a perfect opportunity for people to discover that Englewood has great restaurants and stores, as well as the performing arts center, bergenPAC. We invite people to come to Englewood, enjoy the night and plan on returning again to our city," Englewood Mayor Frank Huttle III said of the event that is supported by the City of Englewood, Englewood Economic Development Corp. and the Englewood Chamber of Commerce.
Admission is free and attendees may purchase food tickets in advance or at the Exposure Tent at the event. Redeem the $5 food tickets to sample dishes from the participating food establishments. Tableware is being provided courtesy of ShopRite of Englewood.
Based on the universally popular poetry of T.S. Eliot, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. A true musical theatre phenomenon, CATS opened at London's New London Theatre on May 11, 1981 and ran for a record-setting 21 years. CATS's London success was nearly matched on Broadway where it ran at the Wintergarden Theatre for just over 18 years.
The Performing Arts School in Englewood is bringing CATS back to life this summer in a fully staged musical production on the bergenPAC stage.
