New Jersey Performing Arts Center presents a volcanic force of sound that erupts at NJPAC whenever Valery Gergiev takes the stage on Saturday, November 3 at 8 p.m. with the magnificent Mariinsky Orchestra.
"The orchestra, under musical director Valery Gergiev, moves as if with a single mind and always with purposeful passion," raves The Times of London.
This appearance, featuring Mahler's roaring Fifth Symphony, may just be their most dynamic yet! Pianist Denis Matsuev, a longtime artistic collaborator with the Sergei Rachmaninoff Foundation, joins them for the composer's ravishing Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Debussy's impressionistic masterpiece, Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun) begins this concert.
Tickets to see are available now at NJPAC.org or 888.GO.NJPAC (888.466.5722) or by visiting the NJPAC Box Office.
