Operation Chillout has announced Vet's Summer Fest 2013, its 3rd Annual Fundraiser and first outdoor concert and festival at Vasa Park in Hackettstown, New Jersey on Saturday, August 10th. The event will help fund Operation Chillout's homeless veteran's outreach program to reach homeless veterans in New Jersey. The event is also focused on raising awareness of the plight of thousands of homeless veterans living in New Jersey. In recent years homelessness among our military veterans represents the fastest growing sector of the homeless population at large and continues to escalate. Their ranks have grown steadily and will continue to rise as our young veterans return home from their Iraqi and Afghani military service tours.
Vet's Summer Fest 2013 will feature performances by Nikki Briar, Chelsea Carlson, the Bob Lanza Band, Lenny and the 45's, The Railroad, Zigman Bird. Special guest headliner and additional acts TBA.
"This is OCO's 3rd annual fundraiser for our homeless veteran outreach. All donations are tax deductible and go to support OCO's year-round outreach efforts to help our 7,500 homeless NJ vets. A special fund has been set up to acquire an all-terrain Rapid Response Vehicle to reach homeless veterans in all locations in all weather conditions. Proceeds from the event will enable OCO to provide new season-appropriate clothing, emergency temporary shelter assistance, summer supplies and survival gear, and will enable OCO to extend county-located outreach teams throughout NJ and establish OCO partner chapters to continue this critical work moving forward." - Dcn. Ray Chimileski, Operation Chillout Executive Director
Vets Fest 2013 will feature a diverse line up of musical entertainment, a wide variety of food and beverage options, family and children's activities, arts and crafts displays, vendors and a vintage car and motorcycle show.
