Relive memories of your favorite Valentine's Day and make some new memories at the Valentine Rock & Roll Spectacular at the Keswick Theatre on February 14th.
Six of the greatest rock & roll acts will perform in this spectacular event headlined by Charlie Thomas' Drifters. Also scheduled to appear are: La La Brooks, original lead singer of The Crystals, Earl "Speedo" Carroll and the Cadillacs, The Marcels, Johnny Farina or Santo & Johnny and Charlie Gracie.
Since The Drifters were founded in 1953, there have been a number of singers who have come and gone, but there is only one singer whose voice is on all of The Drifters greatest hits, Charlie Thomas. Don't miss Charlie Thomas' Drifters performing their greatest hits, including "There Goes My Baby", "Save the Last Dance for Me" and the classic best seller "Under the Boardwalk."
La La Brooks, original lead singer of The Crystals, began her career singing gospel. At 12, she was discovered in her after school program by the mother of one of The Crystals (they already had a hit with "There's No Other Like My Baby"). With one of the five Crystals already set to leave the group, Brooks was tapped to take her place as a lead singer. And so in 1960, at the tender age of 13, the touring began. The Crystals are famous for the hits "Da Doo Ron Ron", which hit #3 on the charts, and "Then He Kissed Me". Brooks left the Crystals in 1965 to join the original Broadway cast of "Hair" and is the memorable voice behind "Aquarius."
Also appearing are The Cadillacs ("Gloria" and "Speedo"), The Marcels ("Blue Moon"), Johnny Farina of Santo & Johnny ("Sleepwalk") and Charlie Gracie ("Butterfly").
