Union County Performing Arts Center is offering a special package for film lovers who purchase tickets to upcoming screenings of Cecil B. DeMille's silent epic King of Kings on March 6 and the 35th Asbury Short Film Concert on May 13. Patrons who purchase tickets to both programs will receive a complimentary ticket to UCPAC's screening of Metropolis on May 14. All screenings will take place at UCPAC's Mainstage.

King of Kings is famed director Cecil B. DeMille's acclaimed production of the final years of the life of Jesus, as he faces religious persecution during his ministry and in the days leading up to his death and resurrection.

The 35th Asbury Short Film Concert is New York City's longest- running, non-competitive exhibition of award-winning short films. An Asbury Shorts film "concert" features a mix of Oscar nominees with USA film festival "Best of Show" winners and international honorees in a fast-paced and highly entertaining showcase of the world's best short films. Highlights of the May 13 presentation at UCPAC include Hypothetically, a comedy from New York director Peter Zinn starring well-known television and Broadway stars Vincent Pastore and Joe Forbich; The Girl and the Gondola, British director Abbe Robinson's award-winning dramatic short shot entirely in Venice, Italy; and Time Freak, Los Angeles director Andrew Bowler's comedy about modern time travel and a 2013 Oscar nominee for Best Live Action Short Film.

Metropolis is German director Fritz Lang's science fiction masterpiece about a futuristic Utopian society and the plight of the underground workers who run the machinery that provides a carefree life for its wealthy residents.

Both King of Kings and Metropolis will feature keyboard master Bernie Anderson, Jr. on the theater's original 1928 Wurlitzer organ. The seven-rank, 500-pipe organ enjoys international renown as the "Biggest Little Wurlitzer" because of its enormous sound. Come enjoy this rare opportunity to see classic silent films in a beautifully restored motion picture palace.

For tickets to any of the individual programs or to purchase the film series package, call the UCPAC box office at 732-499-8226 or visit www.ucpac.org. UCPAC's Mainstage is located at 1601 Irving Street in the heart of Rahway's Arts District and easily accessible to major roads and public transportation.###
