Time is Running Out to Catch Centenary Stage Company's THE LEARNED LADIES

Centenary Stage Company's professional production of The Learned Ladies is coming to a close and time is running out to catch what audiences and critics alike are raving about. Penned by Moliere and adapted by Freyda Thomas, this zany screwball comedy enters into is final weekend. Final performances are Wednesday, October 18 at 2PM; Thursday, October 19 at 7:30PM; Friday, October 20 at 8PM; Saturday, October 21 at 8PM and Sunday, October 22 at 2PM.

Set in the 1930s and featuring a hilarious web of love stories, farcical romps and a battle of the sexes, Thomas keeps the action true to Moliere's original while providing a smorgasbord of modern treats for contemporary audiences. There is comic mayhem in Chrysale's household as the women of the house rabidly pursue the new intellectual movement of the era. Add a meek husband, a pretentious poet, a loony sister a couple of sassy servants completes what some have called "a giddy evening of theatre!" "The production has it all: A marvelously, elegant, lush set; amusing and unique staging/choreography; attractive period costumes (1930s); and (the norm for Wallnau productions)...a superior, first-rate cast including several Broadway vets." Featuring a cast of professional actors, The Learned Ladies is directed by Centenary Stage Company's own award winning Artistic Director, Carl Wallnau. The final weekend of performances for The Learned Ladies are Friday, Oct 20 at 8PM; Saturday, Oct 21 at 8PM; Sunday, Oct 22 at 2PM; Wednesday, Oct 18 at 2PM and Thursday, Oct 19 at 7:30PM. All performances are held in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center. Tickets for The Learned Ladies are $27.50 for adults on matinee and Friday evening performances. Saturday evening ticket prices are $29.50 for adults. Tickets for children under 12 are $17.50 for all performances. Thursday evening performances are $27.50 for all seats with a Buy One/Get One rush ticket special. To qualify for BOGO offer tickets must be purchased in person at the Centenary Stage Company box office as early as two hours prior to performance time. BOGO offer not valid for advance ticket sales and may not be combined with any other offer or discount. Additionally, Centenary Stage Company is offering $5.00 Student Rush tickets to any student on any Friday evening performance. Tickets must be purchased in person at the CSC box office, may not be combined with any other special offer or discount and are not valid for advance ticket sales. College aged students are asked to present a student ID from their institution of study. High School aged students are simply asked to provide the name of their school.
