Cinderella is an American heavy metal band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They emerged in the mid-1980s with a series of multi-platinum albums and hit singles whose music videos received heavyMTV rotation. They were famous for being a glam metal band, but then shifted over towards a morehard rock/blues-rock sound. After a period of hiatus the band reunited and is still active at present. The band has sold 20 million albums worldwide.
Meat Loaf is an American hard rock musician and actor. He is noted for the Bat Out of Hellalbum trilogy consisting of Bat Out of Hell, Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell and Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose. Bat Out of Hell has sold more than 43 million copies. After more than 30 years, it still sells an estimated 200,000 copies annually and stayed on the charts for over nine years, making it one of the best selling albums of all time.
Meat Loaf has also earned a Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo for the song "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" on the latter album. He has retained iconic status in the U.S. and popularity in Europe, especially the UK, where he ranks 23rd for the number of weeks overall spent on the charts. Meat Loaf ranked 96th on VH1’s "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock".
Meat Loaf has also appeared in over 50 movies and television shows, sometimes as himself or as characters resembling his stage persona. His most notable roles include Eddie in the American premiere of The Rocky Horror Show and The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Robert "Bob" Paulson in Fight Club and most recently The Apprentice.
Marvin Hamlisch is one of the most compelling composers of our time, Hamlisch has won virtually every major award that exists: three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globe awards.
For Broadway he has written the music for his groundbreaking show, A Chorus Line, which received the Pulitzer Prize as well as They’re Playing Our Song, The Goodbye Girl and Sweet Smell of Success.
Hamlisch is the composer of more than forty motion picture scores including his Oscar-winning score and song for The Way We Were and his adaptation of Scott Joplin’s music for The Sting, for which he received a third Oscar. His prolific output of scores for films include original compositions and/or musical adaptations for Sophie’s Choice, Ordinary People, The Swimmer, Three Men and a Baby, Ice Castles, Take the Money and Run, Bananas, Save the Tiger, and his latest effort The Informant!, starring Matt Damon and directed by Steven Soderbergh.
