The Theater Project, the professional company at the Burgdorff Center in Maplewood will present a comedy, SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES September 26 - October 13. The hound is more funny than ferocious in this comic retelling of the famous Conan Doyle mystery by Steve Canny and
John Nicholson.
And nothing, my dear Watson, is elementary when three very energetic young actors are playing all the roles - including the dog. Peter Kendall (Wayne) is Holmes. Scott Cagney (Montclair) is Watson and Nick Wolf (Bloomfield) is Sir Henry Baskerville. Along the way, they also port
Ray London cabbies, surly servants, Latin temptresses and devious country squires, requiring split-second changes, in which the costume malfunctions are part of the fun. The production is directed by Theater Project artistic director Mark Spina.
THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES will run September 26 - October 13 at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Durand Rd, Maplewood, NJ. Performances are Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 8 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM. There is a talk back with actors after each Friday night performance, and the actors greet the audience in the lobby after every show. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $15 for students. They may be purchased on line at TheTheaterProject.org or by phone:
