This December, The Theater Company (TTC) is bringing its traditional holiday celebration into a new light this season with Readings of A Christmas Carol. In conjunction with the Hoboken Historical Museum, TTC is adjusting their usual main stage production to something a more in the spirit of a radio show so audience members can use their imaginations as actors tell the tale of Scrooge and company.

Returning as TTC's writer/director of A Christmas Carol is Clara Barton Green, who wholly believes in every word of Dickens original text and worked hard to convert her original script to fit the
reading-style format. "With a reading, the emphasis is always much more on the text--the audience gets to really immerse themselves in the language, and this is some of the richest language in all of
English literature, which is why I wanted to adapt the book in the first place!" notes Green. She went on to say that, "as wonderful as it is to see that on stage, it's also just as rewarding to picture it in your mind, as the actor lingers over those beautiful words. "

As with each season of this production, TTC will be collecting monetary donations at each reading to benefit The Hoboken Shelter. TTC truly believes in the good work that the people of the Shelter provide and we hope that audience members will open their hearts (and wallets) to them as well.
