The Surrogate, written by Patricia Cotter and directed by Shelley Delaney, is now being presented at the Centenary Stage Company through March 5th. This World Premiere play is a thoughtful, yet hilarious twist on the contemporary family that includes portrayals of friends who turn into family and women who struggle with the complexity of family life. It is an accurate, yet completely entertaining depiction of the trials and tribulations of keeping a family sane in the modern age. This wonderful production is totally relatable for a broad audience.

The Surrogate is the winner of the 2016 Susan Glaspell Award, as well as being selected as a finalist in the 2016 O'Neil National Playwrights Conference. The play was developed through Centenary Stage Company's renowned Women Playwright's series, which will take place again this year.

The outstanding cast of The Surrogate includes Clark Scott Carmichael as Billy; Katrina Ferguson as Margaret; Diana Cherkas as Sara; Susan Barrett as Jen; Catherine Rust as Rita, and Caitlin Duffy as Crystal. These talented actors have the audience members laughing throughout the entire production.

The show is enhanced even further by the work of the impressive Creative Team that features set design by Tim Golebiewski; sound design by John Salutz, and costume design by Ashleigh Poteat.
