The successful inaugural STAGEfest at the Loew's featured the world premiere of 68 Productions' "Before, After and Always" by Summer Dawn Hortillosa. All three performances of the show were all well-attended with audience members even standing and sitting on the floor of the movie theater's ornate balcony space to see the show. An estimated 150 to 200 people saw the production over the course of the festival; "Before, After and Always" was one of the best-attended shows.
The Jersey City Independent had the following to say about the comedic love story: Summer Dawn Hortillosa offered a one act play in three parts entitled Before, After and Always about that challenging practicality of love...Hortillosa and actor Sergio Caetano captured awkwardness, passion, humor and a timeless longing for connection through their well-timed gestures and the brilliantly written dialogue.
The show starred writer and director Summer Dawn Hortillosa alongside actor Sergio Caetano in his first festival performance. Liliane Wolf served as Assistant Director. Together, they told the story of a man and a woman with an undeniable chemistry who can't seem to get over one another after their relationship falls apart. During a chance encounter, they must decide what to do with their love.
"Before, After and Always" was performed on March 23 and 24 at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre as part of STAGEfest, a three-day festival featuring 18 music, dance and theater acts in Jersey City, NJ. For more information, visit http://www.summerization.com.
