The Adelphi Orchestra now in its 65th season of Music for All presents A Young Person's Concert under the baton of Guest Conductor Jason Tramm on Saturday, September 29th at River Dell Middle School Auditorium in River Edge, New Jersey.
The Concert features Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, Op. 67. Keila Wakao, Violin (Second Prizewinner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition) will perform Saint-Saën's Havanaise for Violin and Orchestra. The program opens with Rossini's Overture to Barber of Seville and concludes with Leroy Anderson's The Typewriter.
Highlights of its ambitious 65th season, include collaborations with exceptional young soloists: Randall Mitsuo Goosby, Violin (Co-First Prizewinner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, First Prize winner of the Sphinx Competition), Drew Petersen, Piano, ( 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, 2017 American Pianists Awards First place recipient), Bryan Cheng Cello (CoFirst Prizewinner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, 2017 Canada Council for the Arts Michael Measures Prize) in exquisite programs of Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Korngold and Brahms. Adelphi will again present a Children's Concert, the Nutcracker Ballet (with Julie Dance and the Donetsk Ballet) as well as various chamber, choral and symphonic programs throughout New Jersey and New York.

The Adelphi Orchestra is a professional, non-profit orchestra performing symphonic, chamber, operatic and dance concerts. For the past 15 years, the Adelphi Orchestra has sponsored a Young Artist Competition and Young Artist Concerts throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area. The Adelphi Orchestra presents concerts with accomplished national and international guest soloists and distinguished conductors. Nominated by its peers for the past 3 years in the Jersey Arts People's Choice Award in the Favorite Orchestra/Symphony Division, the Adelphi Orchestra is a member of the League of Orchestras and Opera America. The orchestra is currently under the direction of Music Director Richard Owen. It is northern New Jersey's longest continuously performing orchestra and a member of the New Jersey cultural community for 65 years.
