The Theater Company (TTC) will be celebrating the best of Broadway on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 8pm with ON BROADWAY. Part of TTC's Cabaret Series, ON BROADWAY is a fundraising event to
announce their 2010-2011 Season and features a complimentary reception.
Originally named the DeBaun Players, TTC is based in Hoboken, NJ, and has been presenting plays since 2000. In June 2007, TTC was awarded Associate Membership with the New Jersey Theatre Alliance - a consortium of professional, not-for-profit theatres in New Jersey that holds the unique position of being the only statewide arts service organization focused solely on professional theater. Additionally, the company is also a founding member of the Hudson County Theatre
Alliance. TTC's mission is to produce theatrical productions that are accessible to people of every age, involving a diverse group of people on stage and off.
Recently, TTC announced that they had found a new home at Monroe Center for the Arts and were taking possession of studio space there. "We're in Richie Haven old space, so there is a great vibe already surrounding us," noted Producing Artistic Director David Zimmerman. "ON BROADWAY is a great event not only to announce our new season, but to inaugurate the studio and introduce fans, old and new, to our new home."
ON BROADWAY is a Cabaret-style production that will include songs from
the Broadway stage with performances by past TTC performers:
• Clara Barton Green
• Jennifer D. Behnke
• Anna Grace Carter
• Mimi Frances
• Robert Gonzales Jr.
• Brandon Hightower
• Margaret Leone
• Shanna Lesniak
• Drew Martin
• Judith Moss
• Kara Moulter
• Jason Puma
• Howard Richman
• Elizabeth Slack
• Steven Slatten
Many of these performers were featured in TTC's box office hits like "I Believe in You" from HOW TO SUCCEED..., "I'm Alive" from NEXT TO NORMAL, "Gimme, Gimme" from THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, and much more.
There is a suggested donation of $20 for this event, but as Zimmerman says, "no donation is too small... or too large! Proceeds from this event will go toward funding our 2010-2011 Season, so every little penny counts to us!" No reservations are required to attend as all are welcome. "We really want to see the many faces that have supported TTC over the years, but we hope they'll convince others to join them and check us out," says Zimmerman.
