Director Robin Lynn Smith and a seasoned company including Seattle theatre veterans Christine Marie Brown (Hermione), Avery Clark (Polixines), Sunam Ellis (Paulina) Sylvester Kamara (Leontes) and Kerry Skalsky (Antigonus) bring THE WINTER'S TALE to stirring life with live music composed by Kultur Shock member Srdjan "Gino" Yevdjevich and movement by Butoh dancer Vanessa Skantze.

Freehold's core value of radical accessibility means no barriers to attending - all performances are Pay What You Can. Reservations requested through Brown Paper Tickets or by calling (800) 838-3006.

THE WINTER'S TALE follows the unraveling of King Leontes, who suspects his wife Hermione of infidelity with his closest friend. Driven by jealously, Leontes' rage has heartbreaking consequences, but, through his experience of loss and redemption, he is ultimately reconciled with his friends and estranged family in a surprising finale. Contrasting the stark suspicion of Sicilia with the untethered Bohemia and told over 16 years, The Winter's Tale presents a distinctive narrative told with dynamic staging and live accompaniment.

Director Robin Lynn Smith shared, "I keep coming back to Shakespeare because his characters are fully complex, conflicted, contradictory human beings. The plays demand everything we can bring, every time, to put the living, breathing story up there - so that the audience can connect to these extraordinary circumstances fully embodied by the actors." Freehold's Engaged Theatre productions are intentionally dynamic and diverse so that any human can see a reflection of some part of themselves - in the story, the characters, the music or movement.
