Black Box Studios proudly presents a new production of The Pillowman, by award-winning Irish playwright Martin McDonagh (B'way: The Cripple of Inishmaan, A Behanding in Spokane, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Lonesome West, The Beauty Queen of Leenane), directed by Black Box Performing Arts Center's artistic director, Matt Okin. The Pillowman will play a two week engagement from April 7 through April 17th, 2016 at Teaneck's Black Box Performing Arts Center (200 Walraven Dr. (just off Palisade Ave), Teaneck, NJ 07666). The Pillowman is a dark comedy about the interrogation of a fiction writer, in an unnamed totalitarian state, whose gruesome Brothers Grimm style short stories have eerie similarities to local horrific child murders.
Featuring Laura Alba, Haia Bchiri, Sam Cancelarich, Huey Esquire, Nate Murphy, Nava Plaut, and Jeffrey Roth.
With set design and lighting design by Frank Avellino, and Gerard Bourcier. The production stage manager, costume and special effects designer is Haia Bchiri; and Yonatan Gordon is the stage manager.
