On December 15th, Bergen Community College and the Traveling Guitar Foundation including- CEO/founder/guitarist- Damon Marks and Q104.3FM/ClearChannel Radio on-air personality Maria Milito, will host a charitable musical event at the Anna Marie Ciccone Theatre on the college's Paramus, New Jersey campus to celebrate the legacy of John Lennon.

The event, aptly named - COME TOGETHER: A TRIBUTE TO John Lennon, will bring music students from the college and professional musicians from the New Jersey/New York area together to perform some of Lennon's vast catalog.
The concert will be produced by students enrolled in the Bergen Community College music business program's Concert Promotion and Production class, with additional help from the student-led Music Interactive Club.

Andrew Krikun, Assistant Professor of Music and Music Business at Bergen Community College, had this to say, "The educational goals for our music students are to give them real-world experience in performing and presenting live music and to use music as a positive force in the community. It is especially fitting to be part of an event that honors the legacy of one of the world's most recognized musicians, John Lennon, a musician who personified the role that music can play in changing the world for the better. Damon Marks and the Traveling Guitar Foundation are doing their part to expand the role of music education in the local schools and we are happy to be a partner in this fundraising effort."

The full proceeds from the event will go directly to the Traveling Guitar Foundation. Tickets to the event can be purchased here: http://tickets.bergen.edu/orderticketsarea.asp?p=214&a=8&backurl=default.asp

Since being formed in 2009, the main focus of the Traveling Guitar Foundation has been to shape the future of the music industry through children's education. The Traveling Guitar Foundation donates instruments to schools whose music programs are endangered due to budget cuts.
Founder Damon Marks (son of Tony Marks, one of Frankie Valli's Four Seasons) a guitarist and songwriter himself, has performed and recorded with many top names in the music business such as Alicia Keys to Bret Michaels.

Together, with the foundation's board of directors, which includes recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee - David Bryan (Bon Jovi), on-air radio personality Maria Milito (Q104.3FM), and HSBC Bank VP Business Relationship Manager Vincent Moretti, Marks brings the same passion and energy he displays on-stage and in the studio to his charitable work.

Marks had this to say, "I'm thrilled that the Traveling Guitar Foundation and Bergen Community College can "come together" in honor of a great artist and humanitarian like John Lennon."

The foundation's mission is to provide assistance and support to instrumental music programs in our communities' schools; helping to ensure that elementary, high school and college students have access to music education and musical instrument instruction throughout their educational journey.
