The Los Angeles Philharmonic's second LA Phil LIVE concert of the season featuring the LA Phil and Simón Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela performing Mahler's Symphony No. 8, "Symphony of a Thousand" will be broadcast live from Caracas, Venezuela, and shown in U.S. theaters on Saturday, February 18, at 2 p.m. Pacific/5 p.m. Eastern. In this performance, audiences will experience the dynamic Gustavo Dudamel making music on his home turf with more than 1,000 musicians on stage. This exceptional presentation is the climactic performance of the LA Phil's Mahler Project – one of the pillars of the orchestra's season – which features the composer's complete symphonic cycle presented in both Los Angeles and Caracas.
LA Phil LIVE is produced as a collaboration between the LA Phil and NCM Fathom, a division of National CineMedia (NCM).
LA Phil LIVE with Gustavo Dudamel from Caracas, Venezuela is an immersive sight and sound experience, featuring a full concert performance with the LA Phil and Dudamel, broadcast live from Caracas, Venezuela. The concert is seen in more than 400 theaters across the U.S. and the broadcast also includes behind-the-scenes interviews with Dudamel, the LA Phil musicians, rehearsal footage and a live post-concert Q&A with Dudamel.
