The Crossroads Theatre Company has announced that student matinee performances of Fly will take flight on October 7 & 14 at 10 AM. The historical show, set to land at the Crossroads Theatre Company in New Brunswick, NJ on October 1, 2009, brings to life the famed African-American Army Air Corp fighters known as the Tuskegee Airmen who flew during World War II.
The theatre company feels it is imperative to introduce young people to this story of the Tuskegee airmen. This intergenerational show is especially appropriate in this day and age and they believe it to be important to give students the opportunity to learn about the stuggles our grandfathers had paving the way for our opportunities today. The show highlights the inspirational courage, discipline and dedication that these men demonstrated.
Fly meets many New Jersey curriculum standards and can be used to assist in teaching civil rights, American history, military history, discrimination, aviation, literacy and more.
Each matinee includes a talk back session with the cast. For deeply discounted student tickets for these two school matinee performances, call (732) 545-8100. For more information about the show visit www.crossroadstheatrecompany.org.
