"Samantha Bee and Stephen Colbert joining forces to make us laugh is a dream come true," said Montclair Film Executive Director Tom Hall. "This event provides our non-profit organization with vital support that allows us to deliver much-needed film, media literacy, and education programs to our patrons and students, and we are so honored and incredibly grateful to Stephen, Samantha, and our friends at NJPAC and NorthJersey.com for their generosity in making this event possible. It is going to be a great evening."

"The Arts Center is already swept up in the fun of hosting what's sure to be the historic and hysterical reunion of Stephen Colbert and Samantha Bee, the two longest-running correspondents on The Daily Show," said John Schreiber, President and CEO of NJPAC. "They're like the Woodward and Bernstein of late-night political comedy, and we're thrilled to shine a light on them."

Samantha Bee has quickly established herself as having one of the most unique and sharp comedic voices on television with her late-night show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Bee began her career performing as a member of the all-female sketch comedy troupe The Atomic Fireballs. In 2003, Bee joined Comedy Central's The Daily Show's "Best F#@king News Team." Bee departed The Daily Show in 2015 and currently holds the title for being the longest-serving regular Daily Show correspondent of all time (12 years). Additionally, during her time at The Daily Show, Bee was the sole female correspondent from 2006 until 2008. Bee hosted the wildly successful "Not The White House Correspondents Dinner" on April 29, 2017, the evening of the traditionAl White House Correspondents Dinner. Her event celebrated a free and open press under the Trump administration, which was presented on TBS. The special was nominated for four primetime Emmy Awards, including "Outstanding Variety Special."

In 2016, Bee received global recognition from the success of her very own weekly late night comedy series, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, which premiered Monday, February 8, 2016 on TBS. Full Frontal offers a unique satirical take on weekly news and explores other important stories in-depth that have been largely overlooked by more traditional media outlets. Full Frontal received rave reviews, and the show was picked up by TBS for a full season within weeks of its premiere, and renewed for a second season. The show received its own nomination in both 2016 and 2017 in the category of "Outstanding News and Information" from the Television Critics Association. She and the show were also nominated for three Primetime Emmy's in 2017, including "Outstanding Variety Talk Series" and "Outstanding Writing For A Variety Series," for which the show also received a nomination in 2016. She is currently writing a middle-grade novel for Farrar Straus Giroux.

Emmy and Peabody Award-winning host Stephen Colbert took over as host of CBS's THE LATE SHOW on September 8, 2015. Best known for his Comedy Central show, "The Colbert Report," Colbert is also a best-selling author and accomplished actor, writer, producer and comedian. On Sunday, September 17, 2017 Colbert will host the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on the Network. THE LATE SHOW received three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Variety Series, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series. In addition to the three nominations for THE LATE SHOW, Colbert and his staff also received three nominations for the live election night special he hosted on SHOWTIME.

From its debut, "The Colbert Report" was a critical and cultural success, winning two Peabody Awards and earning 37 Emmy Award nominations. The series won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program in 2008, 2010, 2013 and 2014. Prior to hosting "The Colbert Report," Colbert spent eight years as the longest-tenured correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." THE LATE SHOW has carried on this success, earning a nomination for a 2016 Writers Guild Award for Outstanding Comedy/Variety Talk Series. Raised in South Carolina, Colbert currently lives in New Jersey with his wife and three children. Follow him on Twitter @StephenAtHome.
