This concert features conductor John Mauceri and Grammy Award-winning Mezzo-Soprano Isabel Leonard. Tickets range from $17.50-$70.

The program include Three Meditations from Mass for Cello and Orchestra; Halil, Nocturne for Flute and Orchestra; Music I Heard with You from Songfest (Isabel Leonard, Mezzo-Soprano); Three Early Songs (arr: Sid Ramin) (Isabel Leonard, Mezzo-Soprano): "Piccola Serenata" "So Pretty," and "Silhouette"; Overture from the Candide; "Dream with Me" from Peter Pan; "What a Movie!" from Trouble in Tahiti; "Take Care of This House" from A Quiet Place (Isabel Leonard, Mezzo-Soprano); and Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.

The Czech National Symphony Orchestra (CNSO) with Grammy Award-winning Mezzo-Soprano Isabel Leonard, led by Conductor John Mauceri, will celebrate the legacy of Leonard Bernstein with a program of "100 Years of Leonard Bernstein." Mauceri, mentee and conducting fellow with Leonard Bernstein himself, who conducted the world premiere of Bernstein's A Quiet Place, and Isabel Leonard, critically acclaimed for her performances of Bernstein repertoire, join CNSO in a glorious marking of the world renowned American composer, conductor, and pianist's 100th birthday celebration.

John Mauceri's distinguished and extraordinary career has brought him not only to the world's greatest opera companies and symphony orchestras, but also to the musical stages of Broadway and Hollywood, as well as the most prestigious halls of academia. Regarded as the world's leading performer of the music of Hollywood's émigré composers, he has taken the lead in the preservation and performance of many kinds of music and has supervised/conducted premieres by composers as diverse as Debussy, Stockhausen, Korngold, Bernstein, Hindemith, Elfman, Ives, and Shore. As an accomplished recording artist, Mauceri has over 70 albums to his name, and is the recipient of Grammy, Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk, Edison, Cannes Classique, Billboard, two Diapasons d'Or, three Emmys, and four Deutsche Schallplatten Awards.

Isabel Leonard is highly acclaimed for her "passionate intensity and remarkable vocal beauty," and continues to thrill audiences both in the opera house and on the concert stage. In repertoire that spans from Vivaldi to Mozart to Thomas Ades, she has graced the stages of the Metropolitan Opera, Vienna State Opera, Paris Opera, Salzburg Festival, Bavarian State Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Her most prominent roles include: Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Angelina in La Cenerentola, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Blanche de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites, the title roles in Griselda, La Périchole, and Der Rosenkavalier, as well as Sesto in both Mozart's La clemenza di Tito and Handel's Giulio Cesare. In 2013, Leonard won the Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording for Ravel: L'enfant et les sortilèges and she also won again in 2016 for The Tempest.
