SOPAC is proud to introduce Midtown Direct Rep, a new theater company in residence at SOPAC. Comprised of local Broadway actors, musicians, directors and producers, Midtown Direct Rep is dedicated to showcasing Broadway talent, locally. In this The Girl in the Frame, a fast-paced musical comedy, a tiny New York apartment gets even smaller as a young couple's wildest fantasies burst to life. A hunky fireman and the impossibly attractive "girl next door" turn one couple's cold feet into a fun and sexy parable of modern love. Produced by SOPAC, The Girl in the Frame is a staged reading with book, lyrics, & music by Jeremy Desmon directed by Jeremy Dobrish, and features the cast of: Becky Gulsvig, David Josefsberg, Christiane Noll & Charlie Pollock.

McCoy Tyner's blues-based piano style, replete with sophisticated chords and an explosively percussive left hand has transcended conventional styles to become one of the most identifiable sounds in improvised music. His harmonic contributions and dramatic rhythmic devices form the vocabulary of a majority of jazz pianists. Tyner has released nearly 80 albums under his name, earned four Grammys and was awarded Jazz Master from the National Endowment for the Arts in 2002.
