Skyline Theatre Company will present one of Broadway's most thrilling musical hits, DREAMGIRLS, April 24-26 and May 1-3 at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center. Tickets are $29 for adults, $24 for seniors, and $20 for students.

DREAMGIRLS is a live musical sensation that won six TONY Awards and is based on the aspirations and successes of R&B acts such as The Supremes, The Shirelles, James Brown and Jackie Wilson. The story follows a young female singing trio from Chicago called "The Dreams" who become music superstars. This iconic musical features music by Oscar nominee Henry Krieger and book and lyrics by Tony and Grammy-Award winner Tom Eyen.

Artistic Director Sam Scalamoni directs and Chandon Jones choreographs this coming-of-age story of three young singers from the midwest seeking fame in the booming pop music industry of the 1960s and '70s. "The show is so ahead of its time," says Scalamoni, who directed last season's Funny Girl with Jones as Choreographer. "It's wonderful how the storytelling is so layered and the music moves the plot while being so entertaining. It is contemporary Broadway musical theatre at its best."

Starring as Effie White is NYC actress Keisha Gilles, who toured nationally and Internationally with DREAMGIRLS in 2013. The remaining "dream girls" are Taylor Rae Almonte as Deena, Jennifer Theriot as Lorrell, and Ayana Bey as Michelle. The other principals are Randall Holloway as Curtis, Marq Johnson as Jimmy "Thunder" Early, Michael Fisher as CC, and Jerome Foster as Marty. Featured in the ensemble are Melrose Johnson, Tempestt Perrin, Gina Ventura, Jeremy Swift, Garland Ray Dance Jr., Clark Kinkade and Hamadi Price. Music Direction is by Terri Gorgone, with Music Supervision by Darren Gage. The rest of the creative team is Patricia M. Nichols (lighting design), Duane McDevitt (scenic design), Dan Schulz (costume design), and Stephanie Neal (Production Stage Manager).

All performances, April 24-26 and May 1-3, will be at The George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center at 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn. Tickets are $29 for adults, $24 for seniors, and $20 for students. For ticket reservations or for more information about Skyline, please call 800-474-1299 or visit www.skylinetheatrecompany.org.
