The RACHEL COALITION Candle Lighting Vigil Event was held in front of a group of New Jersey families who all came together in a beautiful art designed evening in October. Complete with Church Bells and Fall leaves filled with changing colors, this epic event brought together families, Elected Officials, Assembly people, Organization Leaders together with survivors of Domestic Violence. The open hearts and emotional intelligence of this incredible group of accomplished men and women worked seamlessly to weave together an artistic event where music and message were fused in a tapestry of visual and musical informative chorus.

Domestic violence touches such a wide array of people and rears its ugly head in various shapes and forms in many of our lives.

Child abuse, elder abuse, spousal abuse all come under the heading of Domestic Violence. Neither physical nor emotional violence or both are to be tolerated by any of us. Burying our heads in the sand of silence is not the answer.

Bringing this topic into the forefront is important to us all. Important for us to have our eyes and ears open to those that touch our lives and need help.

"As a survivor of childhood domestic violence myself, I was honored to have been asked to perform at this prestigious and worthwhile event. More attention needs to be given with a light shining on this pandemic of violence that is ever growing in our country and around the world" says Marina Kamen, who played a beautiful violin accompaniment to the Candle Lighting Ceremony and finishing with a stirring vocal rendition of the song "No More Drama" (see video at end of article).
