SPELLING BEE Comes To BBPAC In Teaneck Image

The Black Box Performing Arts Center continues to emerge as the Tri-State area's premiere destination for both cutting-edge professional theater and collaborative arts education - in the heart of Teaneck, just a quick ride over the George Washington Bridge.

Black Box's popular Rock Musical Theatre Intensive returns for a 10th summer production with Finn, Sheinkin and Feldman's, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves!

Tickets available at www.blackboxpac.com. Special group rates available for day camp groups, organizations, and any party over 25: please call (201) 357-2221 or email blackboxpac@gmail.com. Please inquire about day-time performances for "field trips".
