This year's Golden Door International Film Festival, running September 22-25, rolls out the stars for exclusive red carpet events over the four-day event. Thursday night (22nd September), the red carpet world premiere of Chris Robert's highly anticipated Another You, starring Ksenia Solo, Kris Holden-Ried, and Diego Boneta, will be held at The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre.

The film focuses on the young and ambitious Science major Sydney Jameson who finds love and refuses to let it go at all costs. What starts as an ordinary relationship with her boyfriend Marcus slowly becomes a fixation that takes Sydney into the darkest depths of despair. Driven by obsession, Sydney loses herself in a scientific breakthrough, finding a way to use the theory of De Ja Vu to explore her past mistakes. How far would you go in the search for true love?

The film will be preceded by a screening of the acclaimed short JCPD Searching for Running Man.

The Red Carpet screening of Miles Doleac's The Hollow - ahead of its wide theatrical later in the year - is on Friday (23rd September).

From writer-director Miles Doleac and Academy Award Winning Producer Lisa Bruce (The Theory of Everything) comes a stylish and gripping hybrid of Blood Simple and Twin Peaks that'll have audiences on The Edge of their seat.

When a U.S. congressman's daughter passing through a small town in Mississippi dies in a mysterious triple homicide, a team of F.B.I. agents descends to investigate, the team's brilliant but jaded lead agent battling demons both past and present, as his beautiful, tough-as-nails partner tries to hold him and the case together. They find a struggling and corrupt sheriff's department, a shadowy and much-feared figure, who seems to be pulling all of the town's strings from his mansion on The Edge of town and a local victim with a strange connection to a number of the town's most prominent figures.

The ensemble cast includes James Callis (TV's Battlestar Galactica, Bridget Jones's Baby), Christiane Seidel (Boardwalk Empire) William Sadler (TV's Hawaii Five-0, The Shawshank Redemption), William Forsythe (TV's Boardwalk Empire, Daredevil), Miles Doleac (TV's Containment, The Magnificent Seven) and Jeff Fahey (TV's Lost, TV's From Dusk Till Dawn : The Series).

The same night, the documentary Legends of Freestyle screens with a performance by singer Cynthia.

Saturday night (24th September) Red Carpet events begin with the comedy-drama Detours, starring Carlo Fiorletta and Paul Sorvino.

From director Robert McCaskill, the film follows a newly single New Yorker hitting the road to Florida with her widowed dad and her mom's ashes in a coffee can.

Later, the red carpet rolls out for John Asher's Po, starring Christopher Gorham, about a single dad raising a boy with autism, featuring music by Burt Bacharach.

The film, featuring an incredible performance from newcomer Julian Feder, tells of a recently widowed man who must learn to cope with BECOMING a single father to his 10-year old autistic son.

"Po" is a story close to Asher's heart, as his son has autism, and the filmmaker hopes the movie will bring a greater understanding and recognition of autism to the world.

In a recent interview with The Mighty, Asher said the film needed someone to captain it who was experienced with the subject. He was just one of those involved very familiar with autism.

"You shouldn't be making the film unless you have some sort of first-hand experience about what the story is about," Asher says.

Last but not least, Thomas Baldinger's romantic-comedy Who's Jenna..? starring Tracey Birdsall and Bill Sorvino adds some razzle-dazzle to Saturday's rosy runner.

Jonathan Burke (Sorvino), a successful financial advisor, starts dating Jenna Casey (Birdsall), an accomplished lawyer. Jonathan's best friend, Andy Roma (Joseph D'Onofrio) is convinced she looks exactly like a famous adult film star.

Not only does Jonathan have to deal with his friend's nonsense, but he also has to juggle his relationship with his boss (Garry Pastore), who is possibly black-mailing him, and is Jenna's brother in-law. A case of mistaken identity creates a whirling storm of comical chaos in Jonathan's world.

The GDIFF festival was founded and is run by the prestigious Sorvino family - with both Mira Sorvino and Paul Sorvino on the board - in particular acclaimed actor Bill Sorvino (founder) and wife Michele Sorvino (executive director). Filmmakers vie to win honours in such categories as The James Gandolfini Award, Narrative Feature, Music Videos and Local Films.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL Founded in 2010 by actor Bill Sorvino and a small group of dyed in the wool Jersey Cityites. The renegade band of "old time Jersey City" residents set out on a mission to shine a light on Jersey City, New Jersey and to provide an equal platform to all filmmakers well known and otherwise. Since that time, Golden Door International Film Festival has anchored itself as a cultural focal point of Jersey City.
