Premiere Stages at Kean University will hold its first annual Holiday workshop December 9-11 at 7pm in the University Center Little Theatre, located on Kean's Central Campus, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J. The Holiday Workshop is a new addition to Premiere's Play Festival, which encourages and cultivates the careers of emerging dramatists in New Jersey and the greater metropolitan area. The workshop features three Equity readings of unproduced plays sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

The plays were culled from a national call for submissions. Each night will feature a different piece being read as well as a post show discussion designed to assist writers in the development process. The schedule for readings is as follows:

Thursday, December 9 at 7 pm
Wooing Milo by HAl Corley
Appropriate for ages 14 and over
Charming young Milo captivates three generations of singular women during the infamous Christmas blizzard of '59 that blanketed New Jersey.

Friday, December 10 at 7 pm
The Last Noel by Maureen Clarke
Appropriate for all ages
In this moving new play, set in 1934, local carolers gather together to spread cheer on a cold December night. Confronted by the winds of progress, these hometown friends come to realize that it may be the last holiday celebration for their sleepy little Massachusetts town.

Saturday, December 11 at 7 pm
PRONT by Peter Filichia
Appropriate for ages 12 and over
In this new comic take on A Christmas Carol, one ghost does the work of three in rehabilitating Willard Pront, a New York City slum lord who makes Scrooge look like Mother Teresa.

All readings take place at 7pm. Admission and parking for the readings is free with the donation of an unwrapped new children's toy for "Toys for Tots", but reservations are strongly recommended. Please email premiere@kean.edu or call 908-737-4092 for more information and to reserve tickets. Or visit: www.kean.edu/premierestages
