Playwrights Theatre's roundtable reading series FORUM will present "Soundings" at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Dreyfuss Theatre, 285 Madison Avenue, Madison. Readings will begin promptly at 7:00pm each evening on December 14-22, 2012, January 3-6, 2013 and March 14-16, 2013.

FORUM brings playwrights, actors and audience members together to enjoy the creative process of bringing a play to life. Staged readings of 16 innovative new plays by some of the country's best writers with intimate discussions between author and audience following each performance. Playwrights Theatre will present these readings free of charge, with an optional donation of $10. A $25 dollar donation will get patrons a FORUM pass that covers all of the readings. A $250 donation will get patrons a rehearsal pass that allows access to all reading rehearsals. Reservations can be made online at www.ptnj.org or by calling 973-514-1787 X10.

FORUM's sixth annual Reading Series – Soundings – is a sixteen-play look at some amazing works in progress. And this reading series is "Jersey Strong," with ten works by native writers, including the winners of the NJ State Council on the Arts Literary Artist Fellowship and the writers from our year-long NJ Emerging Women Playwrights Program. Three writers are Playwrights Theatre's Philadelphia friends: Russell Davis and Rufus Caleb, who both won coveted 2008 Pew Fellowships in Playwriting, and Seth Rozin, who is the author of Two Jews Walk into a War.

In March, Playwrights is unveiling its Youth Driven Theatre Program with plays either written by -- or for -- youthful audiences. YDT is a theatre experience driven by a youthful point-of-view; it's sophisticated theatre for everyone. Full descriptions of the plays are on www.ptnj.org.
