The Players Guild of Leonia is seeking new backstage members. PGL invites anyone with an interest in theater to join. Although those with acting, singing, and dancing ability are always warmly welcomed, The Players Guild especially seeks those who like theater but prefer not to be onstage.

All kinds of talents are sought in such areas as assisting directors, hand and stage props, lighting, producing, publicity, set design, set painting, stage managing, sound, tickets, and website maintenance. Even those with limited or no experience should join, as apprenticeships will develop new members into becoming comfortable in their chosen areas.

Audiences may not realize, but for every actor they see onstage in a production, at least twice as many are in some support capacity. It takes a coordinated team effort for a production to come together. Through that dedicated effort, a sense of family evolves, resulting not only in a strong sense of community, but also in a collective sense of achievement. It is into this group of similarly minded people that that Guild encourages newcomers to join.

The Players Guild usually meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Civil War Drill Hall Theatre, 130 Grand Avenue, Leonia, the same site for its major productions. This year the Guild is presenting two musicals, a drama, and a comedy, as well as its annual playwrights showcase, which features new one-act plays by local residents.
