Her name is Junie B. Jones (don't forget the B!) and she is sharing her "top secret personal beeswax" in the pilot production of Junie B. Jones: The Musical, Jr. at the Summit Playhouse this winter!
Junie B. Jones: The Musical, Jr, is directed by Lindsay Maron, with music direction by Alex Ratner. The production stars Aviva Winick from Short Hills as Junie B. and features Julia Bavoso (Berkeley Heights), Bobby Becht (Morris Township), Olivia Champeau (Montclair), Acadia Colan (South Orange), Donovan Colan (South Orange), Madelyn Fedor (Basking Ridge), Johanna Keyser (Montclair), Dexter Kennedy (Springfield), Olivia Kider (Warren), Megan Kim (Summit), Abby Jeffries (New Providence), Amelia LeRoy (Chatham), Jack Nissen (New Providence), Samantha Rascio (Far Hills), Jack Rodriquez-Vars (Montclair), Tyler Sautner (Linden), Claire Waskow (Madison), and Charlotte Wesson (Summit) as the colorful characters in Junie B's life.
The show begins on Junie B.'s first day of first grade and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie's friend Lucille doesn't want to be her best pal anymore, and on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher Mr. Scary thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal", and first grade has never been more exciting!
Based on the beloved children's books about the zany youngster by Barbara Parks, the musical is produced as part of the Kaleidoscope Theatre for Youth program at the Summit Playhouse and through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
